GRAS offers a broad array of research services across the GU Medical Center and the Main Campus and in collaboration with the GU Law Center, including research compliance, grant administration, and human subjects protection.
Our goal is to provide faculty and students with a comprehensive suite of services that will allow them to focus their attention on their research and scholarship, to allow them to do their best work, undistracted by the administrative exigencies and financial demands to which we must attend.
Research Compliance
The Office of Research Oversight assists faculty and staff in remaining compliant with University requirements, and Federal and other regulations related to issues of Conflict of Interest, Conflict of Commitment, Conduct of Responsible Research, Research Integrity, Export Control, etc.
Research Funding
The Joint Office of Research Administration offers a full suite of pre- and post-award services to faculty across the whole university, including grant identification, proposal development and submission, award negotiation and set-up, and (in select cases) post-award grant management.
Human Subjects
The Office of Human Subjects Protection is home to the University’s Institutional Review Boards, serving Georgetown faculty and students, and working in close collaboration with MedStar investigators. The OHSP also houses the Office of Research Quality Assurance, helping faculty identify, anticipate, and keep ahead of any compliance issues that might otherwise impede their research.
